Insurance and Billing

Please contact the Surgery Center prior to surgery for pre-admission instructions and financial arrangements.

  • Please remember to bring your insurance card
  • Uninsured and/or cash patients will be required to pay for services on or before their admission date
  • Patients with verified insurance will be required to pay their estimated portion ONLY, on or before the day of surgery
  • MASTERCARD, VISA, AMERICAN EXPRESS and DISCOVER CARDS are accepted
  • Tampa Bay Surgery Center will bill your insurance company as a courtesy, however, any balance due is the patient’s responsibility and payment will be requested from you unless your insurance company pays within 60 days
  • If a patient informs TBSC that he/she is not able to fully pay his/her estimated deductible, co-insurance or co-payment at the time of service, we will allow monthly payments to be made.  Please contact our business  office directly to make a payment arrangement
  •  The center maintains a charity care and financial hardship discount policy to provide financial assistance to patients who receive care but do not qualify for state or federal assistance and who are unable to pay the estimated financial responsibility in full.  Patients will need to submit supporting documentation to validate their status.  There is not a formal application process for obtaining charity care
  • Our financial assistance program offers a variety of ways to reduce a patient’s financial responsibility for services rendered by the surgery center. Our program structures a balance between offering the patient a reduced financial liability while still complying with insurance contract obligations and Federal and state regulations Please reach out directly to our business office with any questions regarding our policies on financial assistance, charity care, and collections procedures.

The Surgery Center recognizes its obligation to remain flexible on financial matters. In the event any of the above statements cannot be met, the Surgery Center will attempt to make other financial arrangements. These must be made prior to admission.

The fees for use of the Surgery Center Includes:

  • A basic medical history.
  • Routine equipment and supplies.
  • Routine drugs and anesthetics administered while at the Center.
  • Operating room time.
  • Recovery room services.

The fee does NOT include the cost for the professional services of:

  • Your surgeon, the anesthesiologist, an assistant surgeon, a radiologist, physician consultants.
  • Special equipment, most implants, drugs and/or supplies.
  • Pathology or special lab costs

You, your surgeon and your insurance carriers may request, in advance, an estimate for your surgery. We recommend this as the other health care providers may or may not participate with the same health insurers or health maintenance organizations as this facility.
